Valentine Musings

Do you remember Valentine's Day in (primary) grade school?  The day held forth the promise of cupcakes and cookies and kool-aid brought in by the Moms.

Decorated brown paper bags that had been painstakingly embellished, were taped to the front of your desk.  Empty bags but open and beckoning, hoping 2 receive paper heart-shaped treasures dropped into them through out the day.  Oh the expectation, anticipation and bated breath!

Who could possibly explain that a  bag full of small white envelopes holding corny, folded valentine's with silly sayings, meant that you were counted in and not on the outside looking in?

How many were painfully aware of the rejects and rebuffs? Not knowing that you were Already CHOSEN.  Already LOVED.  Already desperately desired as aValentine?

This Valentine's Day, I pray that you will embrace the Love that is ALREADY yours!  I pray that you will turn and find your deepest desires not just met but fulfilled beyond all expectations and that you will be overwhelmed and swept away by the Lover of Your Soul. The ONE who knows you better than you know yourself and is as close as your  own skin because that is where HE desires to be, under your skin, in the crevices of your heart and in every area of your life!   

HE was there at each and every Valentine's day from your past, both the happy and the sad ones.  Before you were even born He hummed and sang over you: 

"I am your Valentine, Will you be Mine? Will you supine and your heart let Me entwine?  I will be the song your heart sings, with words and melody that only Heaven brings!  I love you so, more than you know, and I shall lovingly watch you grow. I shall wait for you, wait for you, wait for you My Love! For I died for you, bled for you, rose to give you life anew!  I call to you, and woo you, and draw you to Me, your whole life through.  So come to Me, dine with Me, recline with Me, and let me sing to you!  Laugh with Me, smile with Me, cry tears for Me that others may know My Love that's True, for don't you know I've cried tears for all of you?  Flow with Me, Grow with Me, Then Go for Me, and Show for Me the Love that I gave to you. Reach for Me, Teach for Me, Use the Gifts I've Given to you.  Love's the Key that opens the door, and there is so much more, just waiting for you to explore!  So Come my Valentine, let your heart incline and feast on My Love sublime." Passion's Dance With Fire's Flame

Passion and Fire You give to me

Open my eyes Lord,  that I may see

More of Your Glory revealed to me

More of Your Character perfected in me.

Lord, it’s all about You

Not about me-

Except that I’m seeking more of You

Because I’m so hungry for Thee.

The sweetest Dance

Is made just for two

Passion’s Flame-it’s just me and You.

Born in the crucible of its flame

“To know You” I cry, again and again.

My life’s a journey I want to live with passionate flame

To know You, my Lord, is my burning desire-
my only aim.

In that place of desire and intimacy,

You reveal the dreams that You have for me.

Plans and dreams you’ve designed-

Lovingly fashioned with me in mind.

And so I’ll dance to the song You sing;

For Your song gives Life to everything.

It’s the Dance of the Bridegroom with His Bride

Please teach me Lord how to rule and reign 
at Your side.

You’re a Servant King, so that’s how I must be

Ruling and reigning in life through Love’s Victory.

YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN WHERE YOU ARE GOING!

 You have never been where you are going, so don't depend on things from the past.  Don't think you know how this will turn out, or what it is going to look like, because you don't!  If you let Me have My way, it will be far better than anything you could ever imagine.  But that is not to say there won't be rough patches along the way.

Unless you focus your eyes on and cling to and rely upon and trust in  Me (Jesus), you will lose your footing and slip along the way.  The waves of opposition seem insurmountable, but don't look at the waves.  Remember Peter, the only one who dared to step out of the boat and get upon the water and walk out to Me?  It wasn't until he took his eyes off of Me and focused on how boisterous the waves were, that he began to sink! 

I will cause you to ride upon the high waves of the enemy's hand.  I will call you to walk upon the high places with ME.  If you will purify yourselves, by the washing of the Water of  My Word and by My Blood, getting rid of those things that hinder you and thus hinder ME, I will unleash great miracles in your midst, such as you cannot imagine.

You do not know where you are going, but I do! I know the way, for I have went before you as your High Priest and I will skillfully lead you in the way that you should go, only lean on me and trust me completely my Beloved.  For it is not only Your Fathers good pleasure to give to you the keys of the Kingdom, but it is My constant delight to reveal more of Myself to you.  Never forget, I am The Way, The Truth and The Life.  But I am very personally Yours, and You are Mine.  The Life you seek is Found in ME!

Coming to America, Coming to Christ

Neil Diamond wrote a song called "Coming to America."  It is about the immigrants who came to find Liberty and Freedom here.  Traveling away from all that was known to them, they pushed on to meet their dream face to face.

 I have been reminded of this song lately.  Tonight my girlfriend and I were talking about it, and I played the song for her.  The following conversation took place as she spoke with deep passion and then we shared back and forth and I meditated on the conversation:

America- our forefathers and ancestors struggled and faced such adversity to get here and to travel westward.  They faced such uncertainties and danger around every bend, and yet they pushed forward.  Many died along the way.  Yet they felt the reward of FREEDOM and religious liberty outweighed any risk. America- My Country tis of Thee sweet land of Liberty! They HAD to come they had to risk, the dream and desire was greater than anything else they knew.

OH that WE as the BODY of CHRIST-as CHRISTIANS, would hold that appeal to the world!  That the deep burning desire would be such that people would say,"I MUST find a Christian who can tell me about, can lead me to this JESUS CHRIST that they serve!"  That we would portray Christ in such a way that HE would be irresistible to the world. 

They are searching, they are dying and they don't even KNOW that there is ONE and ONLY ONE WAY, ONE NAME above all others, ONE PERSON, that holds the keys to LIFE and DEATH. That ONE PERSON, that ONE NAME, that ONE TRUTH is JESUS CHRIST and HE IS GOD and HE IS RETURNING for a spotless BRIDE!

Instead of singing they're coming to America, TODAY!  We need to be singing, prophesying and praying it through, "They're Coming to CHRIST, TODAY! For though I LOVE AMERICA, My HOME is in HEAVEN, My CITIZENSHIP is there, MY origination began there in God's own heart and it there (In communion with HIS HEART) that I find my place, my purpose, my peace!  It is where you and all mankind will find theirs as well, if they will but come.

THIS is what people need to know! There is a journey made with the heart. A journey of Faith and Trust. Just like Father Abraham made.  That if we are to "come home" and "find ourselves," that each one of us must make.   It is a journey to the cross, and to the heart of God, where we discover HIS AMAZING LOVE for each of us! 

Think about it. ALL other religions and gods DEMAND so much before they "may" give the person even an acknowledgement!  But only in Christianity and Judaism do we find a LOVING,GOD who loved us FIRST and GAVE before we ever even thought about giving HIM anything!

Coming to AMERICA was synonymous with coming to worship GOD freely. coming to share in the BLESSING that GOD has made America to be!  

I believe and therefore I speak: America Shall return to her CHRISTIAN HERITAGE! She SHALL once again "send the Gospel Light" clear and far!
Red, White and Blue, I declare to you GOD, America is FOR YOU!  America SHALL be Saved! 

Just as they are coming to America every time the Flag is unfurled, they are coming to YOU Almighty God and Creator of the Universe, the Maker of our World!

They are coming to Jesus Christ, they are coming to Jesus Christ, they are coming to Jesus Christ, TODAY!  Hallelujah! Amen.
