Midnight musings....
Life is like a vapor so James tells us. James 4:14
Like the steam from a pot furiously boiling- about to boil over…is that steam coming from your ears? Are you racing through, impatient with you? And what of those around you? Don’t be so hot that they are scalded in the bath instead of gently warmed by the splashes of your passing them by.
Like the vapor of the morning dew hanging on the petals and leaves and glistening on the spiders web as the sun shines through it… does your life kiss the lives of others and leave a glisten of love?
Like the vapor of night when all is dark and cold and we hug our arms around us and try to hold the last bit of the day until our eyes close… help us to make the most of our moments Lord.
And in the morning we find intricate designs of the vapor on our windshields froze.
Are there intimate moments of our lives forever frozen, etched in the hearts of those
Whose lives we have intersected? Have they become signposts to you? Guides along the way to that new bright and better day?
Like the vapor of my own breath as it hangs on the crystal cold of the air… is my life here crystalline moments of Your Breath God in a world that has grown cold and old because it has forgotten Your Love? May the “breath of my life” warm it, thaw it, and turn it back to You. Let my vapor, vaporize hate and discontent, cause hardened hearts to relent. May my vapor open eyes that could not see, and experience the beauty of Life Hidden in Thee.
If my Life is but a Vapor, let it’s essence be pure, the perfume of Your Grace, the Mist of Your Life, The Steam of Divine Spark by which we all come to be… Oh may the Vapor of my life point them to THEE!
2Co 2:16
(AMP) To the latter it is an aroma [wafted] from death to death [a fatal odor, the smell of doom]; to the former it is an aroma from life to life [a vital fragrance, living and fresh]. And who is qualified (fit and sufficient) for these things? [Who is able for such a ministry? We?]
