Africa Calling

And it’s for you I cry

My African skies!

With a thousand dreams

And a thousand sighs.

A thousand sunrises

I’ve yet to see;

Or a thousand sunsets

Forever calling to me.

Still, one thousand moons

Will never be-

Enough o’ Lord

Until you give Africa to me!

Give me Africa!

I’ll set her free,

And then sweet Lord,

Present her back to Thee.

I see Africa rising up strong

Taking her place where she belongs.

The African Pearl, and the African star

I hear them calling to me from afar.

“Come over here and help us to see

Come and show us what we can be!

Come with a Mother’s heart

To give Love, teach, strengthen and impart.”

African sun burning so bright

Pales in the Glory of God’s “sonlight.”

African Love, with passion strong

Holy Spirit lead me now where I belong.

  

Sons, yes, I have a many!

Daughters, not a few-

So many yet calling, I don’t know what to do-

Lord, my eyes are upon You!

Great is the harvest

Great is the Call

Coming to one who

Is “least of all.”

But my heart says, “Yes Lord!”

Here am I, send me…

I’ll arise and answer your question and call-

“Who can I send, who will go for Me?”

Take and send me on the current of Your Love

Guide me with Your Light from Above.

Fill me with your Power and Spirit energy

But may I always have child like Faith in Thee!

Give me Your Wisdom, wit and Way

Teach me to Mark carefully

 All that I do and say

Leading wisely, leading well

Lord, always serving

Living Water  from

Your bottomless well.

And now Lord, I thank You

That You hear my cry

May it pierce men’s hearts

Under the African sky.

A path to our best year EVER!

I have a friend we call Israellen. She said something last year that resounds in my heart: “The first words of Jesus to his disciples were “COME! Follow Me!” ( and I will make you fishers of men! Matt.4:19, Mark 1:17) His last were “GO ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature…etc.” (Mark 16: 15-18)  We like the part about casting out devils, laying hands on the sick and the rest, but I believe, if we are truly FOLLOWING JESUS, we will have the same heartbeat of our Lord for the lost that He has and He empowers us to fulfill this Great Commission! It has been said that “Raymonda is an evangelist, and that’s why she does what she does.” Beloved, maybe I am, maybe I’m not. Titles, etc. mean nothing to me. I simply follow Jesus the best I know how step by step, day by day, repenting when I sin and receiving grace to be changed to be more like Jesus…and He is all about people: saved and unsaved. You don’t have to “pray the prayer” to lead someone to Christ! I am a firm believer that our lives (we are living tracts, living epistles) lead people either TO our Lord or AWAY from Him with every act, attitude, word, etc. Someone eventually, hopefully “prays the prayer,” but our lives truly are “signs” on a path that supposedly leads to and represents Christ to those in the market place of our lives. This isn’t the work of evangelists only! 2 Cor. 5:18-19,  Matt. 28:18-19 Jesus told the apostles to teach others to observe all things whatsoever He had commanded them! In this beginning of a new year, let us pray and seek where He wants changes in US to better represent HIM as He truly is... When we are busy about our Father’s business, He is ACTIVELY busy about ours, and the fewer “busy-body gossips” there will be! The closer we get to Him, the less self-centered we become, the less judgmental and critical, the less negative, and the more “out-reach” minded motivated by Love Himself we will be!  And THAT”S freedom! If we CONTINUE in His Word, then we are His disciples indeed, and we will KNOW the Truth (HIMSELF) and the TRUTH will make us FREE!!!!! John 8:31-32  Following Jesus will result in the best year we’ve ever had!  Love to all! SHALOM!
